i think jax is her foil character, where he sees his feelings and others feelings as a joke in order to escape himself, pomni's biggest fear IS being the butt of the joke. the character's designs are a reflection of their own insecurities, and pomni, being a jester, it makes sense the last thing she wants to be is dumbed down or made fun of. i think she might feel guilt or embarrassment with herself for finding comfort in someone who ultimately wasn't exactly 'real'. but unlike jax's danganronpa execution, where he was scared of judgement from OTHERS, i think pomni's same comes more from an internal place. that's just kinda my interpretation though

i also think the "realism" of the feral gummigoo plays into her fear of the unknown outside of the circus/getting back to the real world. all of the people in the circus have acclimated to the rules of the digital world, and how might they struggle to readapt to reality if they all ever get out.

I just think it’s kind of a shame that Pomni doesn’t have a specific „thing“. I get the urge to have a more „basic“ main character to highlight the rest of the cast better but it feels like a waste.

I think gumigoo’s reality is proven, if you can question your reality I think you are real when you spawn a duplicate of an npc they do not react hes not human but he’s real in my eyes
