I max it out and couldn’t afford to pay it fully. It was R32K and somehow got to R35K. After the bank has deducted their monthly payment , I call & ask them to reduce to the lowest possible (Meaning not making money available for me to use) Now im on R10K and will be paying it off this month. It’s been 6 months working on it. Even after paying extra money I still call the bank to take it by reducing my limit. Hope it helps

I am paying my credit card monthly I paid extra R2000 then called my bank to reduce the limit so I can finish early by doing that yoh my score went down by 7 points am hurt xem

This was me few years ago. I was making payments every month but the balance never seemed to go down. When I checked, I realized my monthly payment was only covering the interest, service fees and other small charges. So I calculated all those extra costs and started paying that amount plus my usual monthly payment. That’s what how I managed to pay it off. Now I use it very carefully to increase my credit score.

I spend 28k on my credit in December and my credit limit is 40k and I’m paying R1400 something per month and my credit score moved from 653 to 658 😂
