Georgetown 1000% I commute to the Domain 3x a week from Salado which is another 20 minutes north of Georgetown and it’s totally doable to raise your family in a great city!

My boyfriend and I live in Rosedale and our entire neighborhood is full of young families and retirees. It’s SO safe and feels like a true community. Just got our invite to the annual block party today which is so cute. I’d recommend checking out this area PLUS your husband will have way less of a commute than he would if you guys move to Georgetown.

I know I’m in the minority, but don’t go. Family and raising your babies around their grandparents is priceless. There will come a time when one of your parents are no longer around and you’ll wish for even more time with them. Job opportunities will come and go and your husband will likely find something around your family that’s also great, but your family is irreplaceable. I live next door to my parents, and I truly feel like we live the dream.

Rent, buying without actually living in the area for a while is not a good idea IMO

It’s hard to leave the people who shaped you, but they’ve prepared you for exactly this moment. Trust what’s in you.. you’re stronger and more ready than you feel.

Avoid round rock and hutto, cedar park is okay but Georgetown is the nicest. Driving downtown would easily be a 50-60 min drive depending on time of day though. Westlake and Lake Travis are the best areas but extremely expensive. You won’t find a 4 bedroom house that’s updated south of the domain for less than 800k.

In a year from now you’ll be able to look back see all the amazing things God had planned in your move! I’ve moved with faith but hesitation and God always blessed my family greater than I could have imagined! Also, a bonus is the time with your extended family is SUCH a treat and so much fun when you don’t live close!

My advice when moving somewhere new is to rent for a year or get a 6 month lease. I know it’s a lot with kiddos but immerse yourself in the city and find out which area you like best before buying. You got this girly 💛

We’ve moved around a few times for my husband’s job and have met so many great people along the way. Gods timing is always perfect but that doesn’t make it easier. I will say, kids make it easier to meet new friends!

as a former Dallas girly who’s been in Austin for 3 years now, it is AMAZING! Welcome! I also commute up to the Domain but live closer to downtown. It’s an underrated commute because you drive against the flow of traffic & super quick! Best of luck to you & your fam!

Always rent for the first year you live in a new city and then buy. You’re gonna go and think you know where you wanna live at the very beginning and that will probably change after being there for a year.

Look in Leander, specifically the Crystal Falls or Travisso neighborhood. Family friendly but still close to the domain

Coming from someone who lived with my best friend and a block away from my sister for 5+ years, moving was HARD but it’s been such a blessing!!! God will bless your obedience! Moving away allows you to really focus on your husband and family + having your family come visit you is the most special 💛
