I mean you said it yourself 150 pages of explanation on why brutus is evil seems a bit too much imo i haven't read it of course but from what your saying i think its either too convoluted or just too stretched out a villains motivation doesn't need to be 150 pages long.

It probably makes perfect sense to you because you already know the character and their backstory. But readers don’t have that same perspective, so even if it’s explained, it might not come across as clearly as you think
