This beloved 1877 French opéra-comique in three acts comes from composer Robert Planquette, with libretto by Louis Clairville and Charles Gabet. The tale unfolds in Normandy, where an exiled Marquis returns to his ancestral castle long rumored to be haunted and the legendary bells ring only at his homecoming! Even after more than a century, these perforated metal discs burst with life and character. The Polyphon mechanism has been lovingly restored and the sound is as vibrant and enchanting as ever, a true testament to enduring craftsmanship.
