This song but about a best friend that now you only talk to during birthdays and christmas. You wonder what went wrong, but nothing really did—you just stopped talking and grew apart, then suddenly you see an update about her life and realize you stopped being the one she told everything to. I miss you more than ever when I feel overjoyed, when I feel deeply saddened, and when I feel peaceful—or anything in between, really. In short, I miss you always. Please come back to me, you are and will always be the dearest to me. I hope in another lifetime, we met on different better terms. Where we didn’t become each other’s lifeline—where we hadn’t grown attached to one another to the point of destruction—for ourselves and for anyone attempting to get close to our bubble. My only wish is for you to continue to live well—though I know that is wishful thinking given our circumstances. You are my twin sister, not by blood, but by soul. We are the same person, if you think about it. I know neither of us will ever get better, though I will keep wishing, praying, kneeling, and begging for your happiness. If I were to be given the chance to choose between giving you or me joy and remove our unwell being—I wouldn’t have heard there were choices, you always come first. I no longer want to hope for a time in the future wherein we will go back to each other, where we will be each other’s daily once again, but I can’t help it. And it pains me. It pains me just to think about you, even. I think you will never not be the person who can hurt me the most, even without trying. I keep looking for you in every person I meet. I try to hear your voice, your words, try to see your smile, your kindness, try to feel your warmth—but I fear no one can ever compare. I know it’s idiotic and unfair—to you, to them, to me. Yet, once again, I can’t help it. It seems I never really able to control myself, especially my emotions, when the idea is you. At some point, I wonder maybe it is this trait that suffocated you and made you slowly leave. I’d thought I was doing well toning my affection down—but if you confirm this thought, maybe I was a bad actor after all.
