@edmhousenetwork: Happy birthday to the Skrillex remix of 'Cinema' by Benny Benassi 🎉 15 years ago today, Skrillex took one of the most euphoric electronic tracks of that era and completely flipped it into something nobody had heard before. His remix of 'Cinema' by Benny Benassi arrived in 2011 at the peak of the dubstep explosion and it became one of the defining records of that entire moment in electronic music history. What made it so special was the contrast. Benny Benassi's original was already a huge record but Skrillex took that vocal and buried it inside something much darker, heavier and completely relentless. It shouldn't have worked as well as it did but that's exactly what made it so electric. By the time he was playing it live in Perth in 2012 it had already taken on a life of its own, the kind of record that made entire crowds stop what they were doing the moment that drop hit. Do you remember this one? 👇🏻 #skrillex #cinemaskrillex #edmremixes #sonnymoore #edmtiktok

I remember when he was in from first to last 😅 I was so happy when I heard he became a producer after he had so many vocal surgeries.

Saw him in 2011 in a small club in St.Kilda Melbourne, it was the best night ever and I'm thankful/feel lucky that I was able to see him play in small venues before he really exploded in the scene. I remember he started his 2 hour set at 1am, I was rolling (obv) and ended up walking to work the next day because I couldn't sleep, it was in a fkn Tuesday or someshit as well ahaha
