@jst_nmb: I met my younger self in a dream one day. I happily ran to hug her, but she pulled away. She didn’t seem so sure that it was truly me, As though she had met a stranger she didn’t wanna see. As we started talking, she asked me why I fiddle. I started to explain it but stopped in the middle. I said it’s just a habit, refused to meet her eyes. About everything she asked me, I kept telling lies. Answering those questions felt miserable somehow. I couldn’t disappoint her with the person I am now. I told her all the secrets of learning to forgive. I talked about a life I never got to live. “You have many friends now?” she said with a smile. I nodded softly at her, hiding the denial. She took some time to think, speaking in the end: “You’ll never find your freedom if you still pretend.” #poetry
