My teen was refusing to do chores and being rude and cheeky so I withdrew my labour. I told her I’d always love her and there would always be food in the fridge and clothes on her back and a roof over her head but while she was being awful to me I would not be giving her lifts, cooking for her, washing her clothes, etc. after two weeks I could see she was close to cracking so I made her favourite meal and the other kids helped, laying the table, helping cook etc she looked longingly at it and asked if she could have some, I explained what chores the other kids did to help her the food on the table and asked what she would do, she promised to wash up afterwards and she did. I can’t say it was plain sailing from then on but she definitely appreciated me a lot more and helped out a lot more.

Every parent needs a neighbor like you these days 😂 parent of 3 here, also working at local elementary school, and I say many kids would benefit from these type of services

You know maybe you should put together a program for kids that are troubled honestly because you do things in such a way that are real but they’re done in a way that isn’t like cruel you know and I think it would be really helpful for some of the youngsters and some of the people that may need to turn the light around you just have a really good way of talking and yeah I think you’ve got a lot of cool things to give the world

In five years as a CO, I never ate at the chow hall. I had written up too many of the kitchen crew, and they were never getting their lick back from me. But the worst meal I remember was something they called Loaf. It was basically all the leftovers mixed together and made into something the resembled a weird version of Spam.
