It is said that Police Officers generally don't immediately provide a reason for the stop, until they receive the driver's documents, but must provide a reason for the stop after they receive your documents.

I watched the entire sequence of events,this is a big lawsuit waiting to happen. The cop didn't mention any of what the supervisor said and it's recorded too.

The so-called cop is wrong. If the police stop you in Canada or the US while you are driving, they have to articulate the offense committed. You cant just ask somone to ID because you feel like you want to or on the grounds that you are a cop. All the policeman said was that there is a traffic violation- not clear enough if you ask me. Why did he not just say exactly what it was? This was clearly a power trip. Every citizen has a right to travel freely without hindrance. This man should sue the police department for harassment and assault.

That's an easy Lawsuit bcuz the law says: "Cops gotta provide an articulated reason to stop & request identification" so saying bcuz he's cop, it allows him to stop and request 🪪 is total bull-crap🤨
