@auntychannn: “this medication didn’t work for me” sometimes means we were treating the wrong symptoms, learning how to describe your experience can change everythinggg. #antidepressants #ssri #simplepsych #psychmeds #psychnp
I literally was to comment about Wellbutrin before I got to the part of the video because it took me so long before l realized that the reason that ssris weren’t working for me because my depression does not manifest in sadness at all it manifested in lethargy. Wellbutrin changed my life truly.

You are going to be exceptional as a provider. Incredibly inspired by you and your insightfulness. -a RN who struggles to explain what it feels like in my brain (8 years on SSRIs)

So what if I’m on edge AND depressed…😭 currently on 100mg of Zoloft and I feel worlds better than I did before I was on it, but I’m recognizing that I’m still quite depressed. I tried Wellbutrin in 2020 and ended up exacerbating my anxiety. Maybe I need to up my Zoloft dose? Meh

I tried so many meds but was also in active addiction so it took me getting sober for anything to truly work. An SSRI changed my life!

I take Wellbutrin and I feel like it definitely helped with my depression and it also brought back my motivation…however, my ADHD is off the charts now. I can’t concentrate to save my life. And it got worse when they upped my dosage, so I put myself back on my original dose until my next dr’s appt. 😩

I was on Sertraline, Wellbutrin, Adderall and Lamotrigine- I forgot my sert and lamo so I haven’t taken it for two weeks but have been doing soooo much better on just Wellbutrin and Adderall ✨😭 told my psych and she got rid of the other two. Took years for me to feel my best now and it was on accident.

I have anxiety, depression, and adhd. My physical symptoms of anxiety initially got worse in the first week on Wellbutrin but I’m on week 8 now and began concerta around week 6 and my depression and anxiety is completely gone! My main concern before medication was constant irritability and overwhelm leading to me just wanting to sit in my bed away from everyone. feelings of overwhelm or irritability still pop up but are much more manageable and no longer constant

omg I had this experience with my psychiatrist once I was able to properly explain that I don’t do impulsive things like others w adhd cause I feel so extremely anxious 24/7 it keeps me so inline that I present like I have everything under control I was able to get prescribed anti anxiety meds and that combined w the adhd meds has been life changing

yessss wellbutrin made me feel so much worse and heightened my anxious thoughts/feelings, your explanation makes so much sense! It was such a bad experience that I didn’t want to try anything else ☹️

Yes!!! You (the patient) are the expert in you and your experience, and the psychiatrist (or NP) is an expert in putting together the patient’s symptoms, their presentation, and their life history in order to see patterns and identify what might help based on what has helped other similar patients. I’m not saying it’s wrong to read about your own symptoms and have a hypothesis, but there’s a lot more to diagnosis than going through a checklist of (mostly subjective and nonspecific) symptoms

this was awesome. my first time on antidepressants, I told them that I was depressed and they gave me Lexapro and it didn't really help me, my second time around seeking help, I went into detail on everything I was feeling and they prescribed me Wellbutrin and it's working better!

I’ve been on Wellbutrin and Vyvanse for maybe a year, and at this point I’m not sure if Wellbutrin is doing anything, or the benefits o get from it do not help the all my symptoms of depression. It helps make my stimulant feel better in my body, but in the last couple months have lost interest in hobbies, and am so exhausted. I’m not sure if I should ask for something else or not.
