@messymamamentalhealth: POV: what I see at 3am. 🖤 Nothing. Darkness. A bassinet. The outline of a room that is completely, totally, deeply asleep except for me. Just me and the baby and the quiet and my phone screen which is the only source of light in this entire scene and probably the entire neighborhood if we're being honest. This is the photo. No edits. No filter needed because there is literally nothing to filter — it is just dark. This is what postpartum actually looks like at this hour for the moms who are too tired to stage anything and too honest to pretend it looks different. Vs: what's actually out there. 696 moms. Global. 361 in country. The Beacon map lit up from Minneapolis all the way down to Miami, from Kansas across to the coast, from San Antonio up through Oklahoma and Dallas and New Orleans — gold everywhere, dots so dense in some places that entire states have merged into one glowing mass of moms who are awake and present and shining their light right now. The gap between slide 1 and slide 2 is the gap between what postpartum loneliness feels like and what postpartum reality actually is. You feel like the only one. You are one of 696. You feel like no one is awake. 361 moms in your country are awake right now. You feel like the dark is empty. The dark is full of gold dots and every single one of them is a real mom who would love to hear from you tonight. The darkness doesn't lie. But it does leave things out. And what it leaves out is the map. 🕯️ 📲 Download Beacon. It is SO worth it. 👇 Screenshot slide 2 and send it to a mom you know is awake right now. Don't say anything. Just send it. Let the map speak. 🕯️🖤 #postpartum #3amclub #momcommunity #youarenotalone #honestreview
