I'm a smart person who went to public school in rural areas, but trust me we struggle compared to private school students. Even now at work, I'm still struggling with confidence, English, exposure, computer skills, etc. There's a huge difference. I'd pay any price for my child's education if I could afford it no matter the cost of private school🤞🏾

I went to a good public school. Pietermaritzburg Girls High. We applied for something called a “reduction”. Wish more people knew about it. It’s almost like a bursary in high school. Fees were about 8k per year per person. And my parents paid less than 8k for both my sister and I. I matriculated in 2007 with a Distinction aggregate. I had access to sports (netball, basketball, cross country). There were more but those are the ones I liked. I got into university (UCT). Qualified as an Actuary. Completed a Masters in Business Analytics from the University of Western Australia with Distinction. Western Australia is where I now work and live. Some public schools are great and your future is also partly determined by the work you put in, where you are. Public schools have not stopped me from achieving any of my goals. Not boasting, merely sharing my journey as a product of public schools. (Disclaimer…I am aware there are other factors at play with my journey. Those factors being God and his hand over my life).

Hoerskools are better than most private schools, and Hoerskools are public schools. And now they offer English as a first language.

my son is in a private school bcos I took him out of a YizoYizo high school after I applied a good one but bcos of space limitations, he wasn't accepted. I couldn't send him back to YizoYizo so I took him to private school and I don't regret my decisions

The only problem with home schooling is your child won’t be good on socialising, making friends and seeing what the world is all about. Having a social skill is important for kids.
