@selfmasterycommunity: “I’ve worked in health for 30 years, lectured for 20, and I teach nervous system regulation and self-mastery.” “Follow me if you want practical tools to take control of your mind and body.” “Fear isn’t the problem. It’s your body going into survival mode. So here’s what you do: Exhale longer than you inhale. Try 4 seconds in, 6 seconds out. That tells your nervous system—you’re safe. Fear can’t stay in a regulated body.”#nervoussystemregulation #fearoffailure #relatable #mindsetmonday #inspiration
what is the difference between nervous system dysregulation and sensitization? 😊

Am I wrong in thinking fear is like risk? That if you only take 1 risk a month, it builds up in your mind but if you take a risk, what you feel is a risk, once a week, you realise it's not really a risk, and you're not really afraid anymore.
I mean, you come out the other side so you're teaching yourself rather than just breathing through it.
Wrong track perhaps?, but there's not much fear, I guess.😊

Thanks for reminding me - I often catch myself breathing so shallow and quick which makes my body think I’m panicking, which leads to panic. I had a panic attack a few weeks ago, and since I’ve been so out of it and panicky. It’s almost as if I’d associated my default breathing with fear, which then creates more fear. A loop I needed to break out of… I appreciate this.

I've seen this technique mentioned many times but if you are always feeling anxious and experience constant episodes of hyperventilating it's extremely difficult to exhale for longer. 😕

I've tried this and it does work if done properly, and it actually makes you feel sleepy,if you practice the breathing you should get to the point where it's not labouring breaths but just flowing like motion.
