I don’t know if an hours drive counts as a day trip… BUT REGARDLESS YOU HAVE TO DO THIS DAY TRIP WHEN VISITING MEXICO CITY!! Visiting CDMX can be very chaotic seeing as it’s such a bustling city and so that’s why it’s great to incorporate some day trips into your itinerary like this one! Xochimilco is just one hour drive south from Mexico City and it is the perfect day trip to add into your Mexico City itinerary. Here you can find canals that were built by the Aztecs and you can ride these colourful boats called trajineras. I booked my Tour on GetYourGuide.com and it costs £38. The Tour lasts around three hours and he literally floats around on the boat and play party games, dr!nkiñg games and so much more. The Tour guides are so friendly and floating around are also other boats wherever you can buy food and snacks. This is my second time visiting Xochimilco and I will 100% be back. The Tour doesn’t include pick up and drop off so we simply took an Uber from our Airbnb in Condesa, it wasn’t expensive at all, but please factor in the traffic in Mexico City which everybody knows is so bad! Definitely leave earlier than you need to. On the Tour, they offer sweets and some taquitos which they have vegetarian and vegan options and meat eater options too.
