❗️NO UNSOLICITED ADVICE PLS❗️COVID DENYING COMMENTS WILL BE DELETED❗️ A few days of Covid and infection precautions in my life. I’m not an expert or giving this as advice, this is just what works for us right now (based on evidence) and I’m very lucky to have people who help keep me safe! I will try and answer any Qs in the comments ⬇️ Extra points: - Masks: we mostly use 3m FFP3 auras as they’ve been shown to have the best fit, but ofc it varies person to person! But these so far work for me and my caregivers. Me and Dan sometimes use ZiMi ear loops if the risk isn’t super high and we need something we can take on and off quickly. Dan also uses the black laianzhi kn100s e.g. for gigs. - We do also use CPC mouth wash (co-op own brand) every day and nasal sprays (Boots dual defence) after doing anything high risk or after any worrying exposures, though the evidence is limited. - Good hand hygiene is a given that I didn’t feel I need to explain!! Is use hypochlorous acid (clinisept skin) as a hand sanitizer which kills Covid and norovirus. - Pluslife tests cost roughly £8/9 per test compared to LFTs which cost approx £1/test, so you can see why we alternate. - Not sure I made it clear that LFTs are not super accurate and false negs can occur often. We use them for screening and layers of protection rather than assuming definite negatives. And doing them more frequently than just a single one is more likely to be accurate. - As well as lived experience of extreme deterioration from Covid I do have blood tests showing hypoimmunity to Covid and immune dysregulation. - My carers also get covid vaccines when they are able to though this is their choice, not something I make mandatory. (They don’t prevent spread of covid but more so illness severity) - On the days Dan works and finishes late, we don’t test and therefore don’t have unmasked contact.
