i have that as well, for me it's a type of claustrophobia. except it's not the fear of small places cause that's not my issues. for me it's Cleithrophobia a fear of being trapped somewhere. I have an irrational fear of being locked somewhere.

I have the same phobia and it doesn’t matter if the elevator is a big one or a small one I still get scared to take it and it’s not just because they get really crammed sometimes but it’s just the thought of it malfunctioning and getting stuck or it free falling and I’m not being stubborn when I refuse to ride the elevator I’m just trying to avoid panicking because there were times when I had to ride the elevator and people have scared me on it before

I'm just scared of getting stuck and then the cables like break cuz I've had one recurring during so much to where I remember every detail of it to where I get into an elevator it gets stuck. it starts tilting and then it falls and going in elevator to go up one floor. I hate it. I went up six flag of stairs and my state trip for band because I did not want to read the elevator
