@heydrrob: Do you have pain in your lower back when you're doing leg raises like this? Well you should probably stop because it's not a great move if you're pushing through pain. Let me show you a great alternative so you can get a nice strong core and spare your spine. Now what I want you to remember is the role of the core is to hold the spine stable while other areas of your body move like your arms and legs. So if you have pain when you're doing a leg raise, it's most likely because your back is going into hyper extension. So this is what I want you to do. I want you to build good intra abdominal pressure with a brace just like this. Now this will set your spine in a good position. You don't have to press your back into the ground. In fact I don't want you to press your back into the ground because it's not good for your spine. And definitely don't suck your belly button in. Once you've built that intra abdominal pressure, put your hands up against something stable and this will set your core and your spine in a good position. From this position raise one leg, then the other. Keep your intra abdominal pressure. Tap and return. Tap and return. Go until you get tired, rest and repeat. But what you're gonna notice is a really good core contraction. You're not gonna feel any pain in your back. You're gonna really crush your core in a good way. And most importantly you're gonna get better not older. #lowerbackpain #coreworkout #legraises #spinehealth #corestrength
