@newscientist: Is it possible to *build* a fourth dimension? 🧊 We only ever experience three spatial dimensions, but quantum lab experiments suggest a whole new side to reality – weird particle apparitions included. Tap the link in bio to find out more #fourthdimension #physics
You guys just getting to the 4th dimension? Good grief 😂

real question doesn't time negate the other space dimensions?

‘Synthetic’ would be the key word in “synthetic fourth dimension”. Still neat tho, just not a dimension operating beyond 3d space

So the 4th dimension is a view into every possible interaction past, present, and future? That's an easy way to sort of understand it for me.

why do we use space as more real than time. this is the limitation that locks our reality to 3 dimensions. time has dimensions too near the speed of light in space.

Higher dimensions hurt my brain. I am not good enough at maths to follow any if the more advanced stuff.

Isn’t the fourth dimension just a movie?

I think it's a mistake to think such things have any connection to any objective reality. It a useful conceptualisation. Just an IT we have always programmed multidimensional arrays with many more than 3. In the 80s when I was first learning this it took a leap of mind to break from trying to visualise these arrays & move past my mind trying to relate them to physical directions. Once I realised there isn't such a connection it became easy. Most, if not all, of physics & maths is the same, that's is, it's extremely useful & highly accurate but not 100% accurate as it's simply a model that for the same inputs produces highly accurate predictions but internally the model likely has no connection to any objective reality at all.

What a brilliantly simple idea. Assume that computationally it’s… large.
