It’s dark all the time and there is nothing to do…” 🤷🏻‍♂️🥶🤔 While most people will tell you not to go to Alaska in winter, I will tell you that Alaska is probably one of the best winter destinations in the entire world 🌎 ❄️ My recommendation is to rent a car for the whole duration of of your trip. We used @hertzalaska and we had a great experience once again, the car was very new and perfect for the Alaskan winter terrain. Now in terms of activities here are our favorites: 🚁 Helicopter tours with @alaskahelicoptertours , we did the Grand Knik and the Ice Climbing and they were both incredible ❄️ Go on a backcountry snowmobiling adventure with @alaskabackcountry. We took a 50 miles ride in pristine snowy landscapes and visited a glacier 🏔️Visit Hatcher pass for some amazing winter scenery and get a hot drink famous Hatcher Lodge. 🌌 Stay at @arcticiglooresort , which has some incredible glass igloos that are perfect for aurora viewing. 🧖 Visit Chena Hot Springs and relax in their natural hot springs. After that the ice museum nearby and make sure to get their signature Appletini cocktail 🦌 Go on a reindeer walking experience and dog sledding adventures, there are several companies around Fairbanks that offer this experience 🛥️ If you visit at the end of winter in March, you might be able to take a spring cruise in Kenai Fjords, near Seward with @majormarinetours 🎿 Sky at Alyeska resort.
