My marriage ended last summer. It was probably the worst time of my life. I thought he was my rock and my everything and now he has someone else. My heart is still broken but I have stated to slowly heal. It’s an awful feeling

my takeaway was the realisation that saying "I'm done" isn't the end, it's the beginning of the next phase, the pulling apart, the untangling, it's the truely hard part

Zoe Ball is the nicest human I’ve ever met, very likely. Glad she’s sounding positive on something so heavy.

It’s alright until you have to pay £500 a month for 9 years realising it wouldn’t be the same if it was the other way round! Just never getting into it again 🤷🏻♂️

I don't think everyone is better in the end. You have years ahead of you where situations are more difficult, tricky or down right uncomfortable. Your children's weddings, when they have children, their parties etc. Christmas, more houses for your children to visit. Who do the call nanna, grandad etc. The strain goes on

Every case is different but I do agree with Zoe. I told my mum to leave an unhappy marriage and I listened to my own advice many years later and left a toxic marriage. While at the time, my son was devastated, he now agrees it was absolutely the right thing to do. But it is awful. And hard. And not cheap. But it is the beginning of the next phase. Four years on, I am happier and healthier than I have been in years xxx
