Adut Kiir held talks with a visiting Norwegian delegation led by Minister for International Development, Åsmund Aukrust, in a meeting centered on peacebuilding, political dialogue, and sustained international support to South Sudan. The delegation included the Norwegian Ambassador to South Sudan, Roar Haugsdal, while South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Monday Semaya Kumba, also took part in the discussions. The Envoy highlighted ongoing efforts to consolidate peace and called for continued international partnership in fostering inclusive political dialogue across the country. Discussions also focused on South Sudan’s electoral roadmap, with Norway expressing readiness to support processes that will ensure free, fair, and credible elections. Humanitarian assistance remained a key area of engagement, as both sides acknowledged the urgent need to scale up support for communities affected by ongoing challenges. The Envoy praised Norway’s longstanding role as a reliable partner, noting its consistent contributions to humanitarian relief and national development efforts.
