Couples boudoir is a little more than your standard couples shoot. Forget the posed romance on a park bench. It’s about real emotional connection that you can see and feel. It’s about seeing yourselves having fun with each other. Not just during the shoot, but after when they look back at their images. So we try to put ourselves on the other side of the lens. We have shot couples boudoir for others before, but honestly I didn’t think it would feel as good as it does looking back on your images. I used to feel embarrassment when I looked at images of myself. I still wouldn’t say it is my favourite past time, but I’ve become more accepting of myself through it. I felt awkward about public displays of affection too. This set of images was really amazing though. To see the connection between the two of us and be able to see it over and over again really is special, and liberating. I would never have been brave enough to post things like this, but we have helped each other grow so much that it actually feels really good doing it. Freeing. You and your partner should give it a try. Self-promotion aside, if not with us, find a photographer that makes you feel comfortable and push yourself as a couple.
