Wow. the medical staff took too long to decide on a colonoscopy. So scary! Glad you are ok. If I didn't insist on "there's something not right", who knows where I'd be today.

I had ulcerative colitis surgeries from 19-22. From my first symptoms to emergency surgery was one month. After 8 blood transfusions in a week. Took four surgeries to fix me up….my iron was also a 2 and I almost died…crazy

Pregnant in pain told I was pregnant. Passed blood filling toilet for months told I had hemroids. Still had pain was told I just had a baby. Went to ER in such pain told it was my appendix. No. I had Crohn’s disease. Took 23 inches of bowel so swollen that I would have died if I didn’t go in when I did

Mine was a 7 & they told me “I couldn’t have transfusion until I was closer to 3 for insurance purposes to cover.” Go figure. Insurance won’t cover until you are ready to or actually “expiring “. I got 2 bags & sent home. Took me weeks to fill better & had to take extra iron every day 4 yr later & still on it. Plus a ton of other vitamins that I’m always low on.

The doctor gave you a colonoscopy without putting you out? That is unheard of.

oh, girl! I have a similar story. I had painful, debilitating bowl movements. I had a colonoscopy that I was awake FOR-SCREAMING! I didn't lose too much blood but I was having 10 to 15 bm's a day. Ulcerative colitis. I'm finally in remission with Stelara.

I also almost bled to death without a scratch on me. Given a blood transfusion, 3 bags of blood. Normal hemoglobin (total blood in your body) range a 12-15, mine was a 2. Turns out I was losing blood from my period. Vitamin B12 disorder that blocked my body from replenishing any blood lost. Crazy right..... Anyway, I'm glad everything turned out ok for you.
