@drdavidabbasi: Your heart doesn't pump blood. It creates a vortex. 🌀 We all learned the heart is a pump. Squeeze blood out, fill back up, repeat. But that's an oversimplification of something far more elegant. Blood doesn't just get pushed through your heart — it spirals. The chambers are shaped to create helical flow patterns that twist blood into a vortex before ejecting it into your arteries. Why? Efficiency. A vortex minimizes turbulence, reduces energy loss, and creates smoother flow through your 60,000 miles of blood vessels. Straight flow would require way more force and destroy your vessel walls over time. 💀 The muscle fibers in your heart are also arranged in a spiral pattern. When they contract they don't just squeeze — they wring like a towel, creating rotational force that launches blood forward. Your heart isn't a pump. It's a fluid dynamics masterpiece. 🧠 ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips!🌴😷Schedule a consultation in Delray Beach! Visit www.primeorthocenter.com

So are they just showing how it’s basically one muscle coiled up to produce a spiral pump?

I used to explain to patients that the heart doesn't squeeze, it literally wrings itself out in rhythmic waves.

(And We bound upon their hearts) — Holy Quran Surah Al-Kahf (18:14) How remarkable the expression of “binding” the heart—as if the heart were something that could be tied together.
