I ended up with severe Hypophosphatemia still dealing with it 5 months later. My serum phosphorus has been stable for a little over a month. I’ve been miserable. I basically feel like I have rubber legs at this point and deep bone pain. It’s horrible

Thank you for sharing and raising awareness. I have a very long story about this, but they gave me the second bag with a phos of 1.2. For reference anything less than 1 can cause respiratory and cardiac arrest. They didn’t tell me the result of the lab I begged for and gave me the second bag. (I had hypophos the year before as well and they assured me they would not give me injectafer. They did.) I almost died. It has been 4 years and I’m still on 8 phosphorus pills per day and 3 calcitriol pills. My FGF23 is still elevated, phos often comes back low and insurance won’t pay for the phosphorus pills that keep me alive. I’m in a fb support group with thousands of others as well. Thank you for making such a thorough post on the topic. This can literally save lives.

30 minutes ago I walked out of my hematologist appt for my first infusion. I asked what brand before the nurse left to go get my IV and hopped on my phone. She came back in the room and I said absolutely not. I told her that I find it incredible that not one person told me the possible side effects of this certain brand. So I didn’t get it and canceled my second appt.

I had low phosphate today and they still gave me iron iv today. Ive felt like horrible today. Pain during it’s and in so much pain can’t even sleep. That was this morning. Am I crazy or do I call my doctor?

Im pretty sure that the 6yrs of Injectafer caused me Hypophosphatemia and Rhabdomyolysis but idk what to do next 😖 its complex

I went for injectafer and have been dealing with prolonged hypophosphatemia that my doctor did nothing about and I almost lost my life twice and I’m still not through the nightmare. Please if this comment helps anyone, DO NOT get the injectafer! Get the other one that has been around for years! Injectafer has completely changed my life for the worst. I had to become my own doctor because they knew nothing about the FGF23 hormone cause the kidneys to dump the phosphorus.

I’m one month out from injectifer to where I almost DIED. I’ve been on 3 different phosphorus medications and nothing is helping me. I’m still at a 1.2 and fainted 2 times 2 days ago, I feel helpless I don’t know what to do. I’m scrounging tiktok for help. I wish I would’ve known this before I got injectifer.

This happened to me I got injectafer April 15th I’m still trying to get my levels back it my levels went to 1.1 I was hospitalized and got two phosphate IVs and sent home with the powder packets my current levels are 1.8 not really going up much and my oncology/hemology not really educated on this

Going through this too, it's derailed my life, and to be honest at this point being iron difficient was bad but not like being hypophosphatemic and in and out of hospitals. Only with aggressive treatment was I able to leave the hospital but my body isn't tolerating the treatment we'll either.

I'm am going through this now. Never had this issue before. I was hospitalized twice had about 10 phosphous infusion along with 2 pills 3x a day. I was at 1.6 after first round of injectafer but still gave me the 2nd round because they didn't wait for results and dropped to a .8 !!
