I like how me and my partner does finances. We have one joint account for food expenses and one joint for bills where we transfer the same amount every month. Otherwise, we each have separate accounts. It's important so we don't end up independent on each other and still habe financial freedom. Insisting on everything being joint irks me 🫣

normal for separate accounts and the safest way... Maybe its not considered normal for every family (which is totally okay and amazing if it works) 3 accounts, 1 separate for each person and the 3rd is a family account. each puts in a certain % to cover family costs (house, groceries, bills etc) and the rest you spend however u like, make a 4th and have it as a savings/longterm investment account where each puts in what ever they want and by the time ur 50/60 u have retirement money separate from any other money from work benefits etc.
