That’s so sad Anne I’m so sorry. I had a wonderful mother. She was so supportive and accepting of all my faults My father and the other hand was just as critical as your mother I could never do anything right in his eyes, I was blamed for everything without ever hearing my side of the story. It was always my fault He really believed it and so did my 3 siblings It was not until I went to therapy that I realized my father had a lot of underlining issues that he took out on me! We had to learn to love ourselves, regardless of what our parent thought about us!

I was from a family that expected me to marry this incredibly stupid guy I dated in high school that was very likely to be a wife beater. Very likely! I dumped him quietly because I knew he was insane and never told my family. Later I heard they decided that we broke up because I was pushing to get married and he didn’t want to. But I let the rumor sit first because they would never believe the truth secondly because they would’ve loved the truth that I suspected he would be a wife beater, a story they could turn into fact now and tell everyone, and third I needed it to die quickly because I seriously suspected that he was capable of murder and the best thing I can do with getaway and never go back. My family to this day doesn’t know the truth but it wouldn’t matter. They hated me from day one. We were poor so it was that much worse.
