My aunt passed away March 2023, she was always a very sad person and truly believed no one would care if she passed, but when the ladies at the Pharmacy in Kroger she always went to found out she passed they sat down and cried with my uncle because they were heartbroken. I just wish she knew how loved she truly was.

I had a man’s triage notes printed out and waiting on him, he never came in for his appointment. I later found his obituary. I was so heartbroken I tucked those last triage notes I ever got to print for him into my filing cabinet & never threw them away 😕

I used to work in an insurance office and we had one guy that I loved, when I found out he died I CRIED. I wasn’t even doing insurance at that point and hadn’t seen him in a couple years. I saw one of his grandsons in the store a couple months ago and when I got to my car I had to take a minute. You really never know who’s going to miss you when you’re gone.

My mom had the same optometrist since before I was born so of course they became mine too. When my mom died in 2024, I remember calling the office to tell the staff of her passing and it was immediate tears from the receptionist. I went in a couple weeks later for my annual appointment and every staff member gave me hugs and the optometrist told me that my moms loss was so great and she had such an impact on him, his wife and their staff that they ended closing early that day so they could send their staff home to grieve. No one really knows the impact they have one people and it’s sad but when I hurt for someone after their passing, I remind myself that my tears are the reminders of their impact that will forever live on. Sending you and your office condolences for your loss.

We lost my Grammy February 12 of this year and she was in the hospital for the last 4 days she had on earth and had the same nurses all 4 days and we welcomed them to cry with our family and they did one of the hugged me and I cried on her shoulder my Grammy was everything to me and my family and she was everything to her cancer center too we made a trip to see them and let them know as well it’s normal to be upset that you lose a patient ❤️

I work at Starbucks and we had a man who came and sat in our cafe every single day without fail. He was always so kind and loved to chat. He passed a few weeks ago, and we knew some thing was up that day when he didn’t come in. Another one of our regulars went to his apartment and was the one who found him, he passed peacefully. That regular called the store to let us know the news. We held his celebration of life with his family at our Starbucks. We miss him everyday.

My mom has been a nurse for 25 years at the same job. She sees her patients go from married to having kids of their own some patients passing away but she always goes to her patients funerals if she can.

I worked for 3 years as a registration clerk/biller up front at a clinic that mainly had older people for patients and most of them were the SWEETEST little people ever. I know exactly what you mean by coming to the realization that they’ll never come into the clinic again. It’s so sad💔

on a sad note, speaking of obituaries, my Papa just died on Sunday and his Funeral is next Monday. I saw him today and it made me cry but they put his hat on just right and we are burying him with a family photo, a toy car that if we're real he would be driving, and a cross. I know he is in a better place and he is at peace but man it's sad..

I worked at a fast station back in 2020 & we we had lots of regulars. These two brothers always came in for lottery together & one had got cancer, so when he got too sick he stopped coming but his brother still came everyday for him. He would update us on his condition but then the brother stopped coming for a few days. When he finally came back he told us his brother had passed and we all felt for him b/c we saw them every single day. We also had lost two regular customers to COVID.

As someone who works in EMS we unfortunately see this a lot. I remember talking to a coworker and saying “hey you know I noticed we haven’t transported so and so in a while I hope they are okay.” The next day I get a call “unfortunately they passed away recently” and im like well dang. I’m never going to see that name again.

I work in a library and had a patron that came in every Wednesday. When his buddy who always came in with him told us he had passed I started tearing up. It’s been several years and I still look for him to come in before my lunch break on Wednesdays.

although i got out of long term care, i STILL remember almost every single patient & get so sad when i find out they’ve passed. i even stay in touch with people from every facility i worked at doing travel nursing in other states to ask how everyone is & who has passed. thinking of you today, sweet friend. ❤️🩹

You are just the sweetest and have the biggest, tenderness heart. Everybody should love like you. I wondered that exact same thing before...who would miss me when I'm gone. I sat back and looked at my family, friend's and knew that I WOULD be missed a lot. I'm sorry to hear about your patient. I'm sure she/he wknew you loved them.

im a video banker, we have a few older customers who we love and we had this lil old man we all loved. he never had to wait or have his account number for us. we all cried when we found out he died. miss him everyday

I also work in eye care, and I have this patient that would ALWAYS come in she had to be seen every 2 weeks for the last 7 years and request to work with only me , and I hadn’t seen her in months and came across her obituary and it was devastating. You really create bonds with your patients.

I work for a nephrologist which is the kidneys and I’m the same way if I see an obituary for somebody or a patient’s family has called to let us know that they’ve passed we all feel it cause we’re like. Dang we’re gonna miss them.

I had a speech therapist that not only saw me, but saw some kids. I babysat and he died of cancer and I went to his funeral and I don’t know the last time I sobbed so hard. And it proved to me that you can make a difference in someone’s life no matter if you see them once a week or if you see them every day of your life and to remember that people and what you do matter, I have his phone number in my phone still, and I will not delete it because I can’t believe that he’s gone and I will never see him again.

I run the front desk at a chiropractors office and I regularly am asking myself about people we haven’t seen in a while. It’s such a struggle not knowing what’s going on and just hoping your patients are okay 🫶🏻

it's not odd sis I work at a gas station and when we have regulars that come in every singleday and they just stop showing up it breaks our hearts too I have had two recently that past and it still hurts I worked health care fir 20 plus years but it still hurts

As a waitress for 18 years and receptionist at a Chiropractic clinic for 10, I feel this in my soul! I'm a people person at work. Tell me all about your kiddos, grandbabies, pets, etc. I've always tried to get to know my "people" to serve them to the best of my ability. It's very sad to lose one. So sorry for the loss of your patient.

I agree! I recently found out our favorite pediatrician passed away. He had retired and moved away and enjoyed several years of retirement. He was the most wonderful man and a God send for my youngest child who had a rough start in life. I have so much respect for him and he kept me sane in those difficult years. I am still sad to think of his passing. 💔🙏
