CCD class is like 1hr long.. there is always a teacher and an assistant in class... you're not sending them away to a camp.. I put all my kids in CCD and I went to CCD myself... I learned so so much and and thankful for it

I signed up my daughter and became the CCD teacher. I also had the option to teach her at home. Both positive. Your feelings are valid as I too am a survivor not related to church. I just got involved and met a lot of wonderful people that I stayed friends with today. Eventually trusted to leave my daughter with them.

I have three boys. They all are up-to-date with their sacraments. Each classroom has two adult teachers. There’s also a secretary type person who keeps watch at the front. No one is to be dropped off early. No one has to be picked up late. Our church asks for snack donations for their break time. I’ve been very comfortable with how it’s organized and run.

Remember that Judas’s actions did NOT mean that the other eleven apostles were bad. Less than 1% of priests are responsible for that scandal in the church. Those men are despicable and Satan is behind their evil acts. Satan knew that if he got those priests to do what they did, people would blame the church, and many would leave. It was his goal all along, because he hates the Catholic Church. Don’t let him have that power over you. There are many wonderful, and holy priests. I’ve taught CCD, and it’s very safe. There is only ONE thing that we can bring to heaven with us when we die, and it’s our children. It’s very important that we raise our children with a strong faith, while being a good example by taking them to Sunday Mass every week, receiving the Eucharist every Sunday as a family, by bringing them to confession often and by praying together. These things are the foundation of faith. I thank my mother all the time for my faith, even though she is not here any longer, I know she hears me. If we teach our children to turn to God when they are in need, or sad, or when life gets rough, they will turn to Him, and not to friends, or alcohol, or drugs……
