In all my years I only ever had one client who could write off his dogs - they were security trained German Shepherds and he worked security at large events with them.

I wouldn’t risk it because isn’t someone suing the IRS because they aren’t allowing her to claim her dog as a dependent? Just like in RE, pets aren’t a protected class and it’d be far fetched you’d be able to prove that that pet’s expenses are just for your business.
