The alpha legion in renegades harrow master were surprised for all of two seconds, because knee shots/joint shots weren’t as effective. They then used the primaris’ lack of experience/ there insecurities surrounding honor against them. They also reasoned that primaris marines meant that Guiliman must be back because there’s no way anyone else could have sent these troops out and gotten away with it given how backwards the imperium is

I kinda wish they hadn’t abandoned the idea that certain chapters would never accept Primarius Marines like the Flesh Tearers, it adds a might of interest to the whole thing, but GW choose to go the slow do away with all first born models to save money instead
