Aviation Law: In a "Mayday" or emergency situation (especially a life-threatening medical one), the pilot has the legal authority to land the plane. Air Traffic Control cannot "forbid" an emergency landing for a VIP arrival. If a plane is in distress, everything else—including Air Force One—must move out of the way.
