you should reward on the bed not from your hand, you will build value with the bed. it will be easier if she anticipates treats on the bed not your hand.

Please advise: my staffy knows “crate” and she sleeps there but she doesn’t stay there by her own choice for more than a minute, only when we put her there. And she seems to consider our sofa as her place since she always grabs some food or toys and goes on the sofa. It’s very irritating when she takes food on the sofa. How should we teach the word place? Associated with the crate?

My Aussie will go to place a lay down great and I can get him to stay for about a minute but anymore than that he’s outta here. Also no place if there are distractions :(
