My mother went blind when I was 15. It's was just us and my 11yr old brother in the house. When she was coming out of depression from going blind, she sat on our porch and would talk to the crow who was ALWAYS talking. She named him Hobart. After a few months Hobart would sit next to her or crawl in her robe on rainy or really windy days. Some days she would keep our door open and the screen closed, he would sit at the door and talk to her and for some reason always borough her a nickel every week, just nickles. She kept them in a jar on the porch. He yelled when the mail came, and when we had visitors coming to the door. Hobart was a good boy. We miss him 💕. He helped heal my mom in so many ways, and I really hope he knew that.
