@cbcedmonton: The City of Edmonton recently released a report detailing some of city's most congested roads. The CBC's Tristan Mottershead dives into where some of these busy streets are located. #traffic #driving #yeg #news #cars #DidYouKnow #streets
Probably because everyone drives 10 under the speed limit

There are a lot of busy roads. The city’s population continues to grow and I don’t think city planners think of future needs. Areas of the Henday that go from three to two lanes are often backed up. Why didn’t they just build three lanes all the way around will forever puzzle me.

111th street which has been turned into a 5+ year long train project and is down to 1 lane has to be on here

Poor planning from the city and developers on all these roads there’s room to make an extra lane each way

All of the main roads surrounding Terwillegar and Windermere are painful, especially if there’s any construction happening. I love the area, but I couldn’t live there for that reason alone.

It's almost like they built thousands of homes without thinking about what roads will be used to access them

With the population of the city growing at the rate it is there’s no reason that all these new neighbourhoods should still be built with single lane access.

41 ave is new. Why they built single lane is frustrating as hell. They didn’t learn from Rabbit Hill Road.

This is why you live downtown. All of these roads are far away in car dependant areas

I am new here and I can tell you city planner either purposely created lot of bottlenecks or they are not taking into consideration what actually the city /neighborhood needs. For instance in couple of locations 17st become 1 lane from 4 lanes, same goes to 23 ave closed to Lauren. Bus stops are right after the intersection in those areas blocking the entire road and traffic flow completely
