@wanderingdonut: FUN FACT: These ryokan baths were where the monkeys first learnt the habit of hot spring bathing before they were later built their very own onsen in the now famous Snow Monkey Park. The goal was to disperse them so guests could get their onsen back which I find hilarious now that we all come here to see the opposite haha 🙈 And sure enough, they still come by for a dip at 📍Jigokudani Onsen Korakukan For us, as the sun set and the park closed, the entire troop made their way down the valley stopping in at the onsen to say hello to us. And again coming back up the mountain in the morning.
