i worked these jobs through every summer in college, and i had faster luck with smaller parks. crater lake and rainier i heard back from faster/got higher paying jobs with less experience than bigger operations. smaller parks also tend to have shorter seasons or less returners so they hire full staffs rather than filling in gaps!

I’m working in Alaska at Lake Clark national park from May to the beginning of October! Not what I was expecting since it’s gonna be winter there but I’m so pumped for it!!🤩🤩

For my college students interested in and early career biologists/ecologists/environmental scientists/conservationists, be sure to check out the Scientists in Parks programs they offer seasonal paid positions in the national park system. I got a job working with sea turtles and nesting shorebirds for this upcoming summer and fall 😌

also apply literally everywhere!!!! i got offered a job at yellowstone in wyoming and alaska in denali national park (ended up taking this one) but i applied to over 50 places easily, don’t give up!! :-)
