I do not care that my PTO is an inconvenience. I'm sure the C suite considers having to pay me an inconvenience too, and I don't care about that either. They can deal with it just like everyone else.

As someone with DPTO as long as it’s approved, no one can take it away. Put it in as far out as you can, put it on your calendar and invite your supervisor and team (if needed), and boom, you have guaranteed time off. No questions asked.

I've got April 25th till May 23rd off for a trip to Europe. I had to change my flights due to the middle east troubles and told my manager I may need to change dates. Her answer was "of course, just let me know ". Oh, I'm here in Australia as well

This where we have to yse the corporate version of saying "***& off" to toxic supervisors and managers and remind them PTO is a benefit you have a right to use per the handbook and j9b offer. If that fails, escalate to HR and legal.

I always get punished for taking PTO, especially the day before. But when that same manager goes out.. they don’t even send out a coverage plan?? it’s always the micro mangers too smh
