How I build 3D websites 👇 Academy in bio 🔗 I would start with a dark architectural layout built around one large transparent glass structure that slowly rotates in the center of the viewport. Instead of treating the 3D object like decoration, I would make it control the pacing of the entire page. As the visitor scrolls, I would use Lenis for smooth scrolling and connect that progress to GSAP ScrollTrigger. The camera would move through three different positions around the glass structure while individual layers inside it separate, rotate, and reconnect. I would build the scene with React Three Fiber and Three.js, then create the object in Blender so I could control every surface independently. For the material, I would avoid a basic glass shader. I would use a custom GLSL shader with refraction, slight chromatic separation, surface distortion, and changing roughness depending on the camera angle. Lights would also shift gradually as the visitor moves down the page so the object never looks completely static. The typography would sit outside the WebGL canvas as normal HTML. I would keep it oversized and clean, then animate individual lines with GSAP so they enter at slightly different speeds from the 3D movement. This keeps the text sharp while still making it feel connected to the scene. I would also add cursor interaction. Moving the mouse across the screen would slightly rotate the camera and push the internal glass layers in the opposite direction, creating subtle depth without making the entire scene chase the cursor. For page transitions, I would use Framer Motion to fade and scale the interface while the Three.js camera moves forward through the glass object. On mobile, I would reduce shader complexity, disable expensive reflections, lower particle counts, and replace some pointer effects with touch-based movement. The goal would be to make every interaction feel connected, so scrolling, typography, lighting, camera movement, and the 3D object all behave like one system. Save this if you want to study the structure, and follow for more breakdowns. #fable #webdevelopment #webdesign #3dwebsite #claude
