in case anybody isn’t aware, scalping is NOT limited to, the intention of reselling the packs at above MSRP, if your a collector, and you walk into a walmart or target, and clear the shelf, or vending machine, you’re just as bad, it’s called hoarding, it’s called greed, it’s the same concept

I've literally struggled to buy ONE pack in Poland. I know the market on Pokemon cards here is quite small but still. I've been to like 7 stores to find one pack. This is what I got btw

Omg I was trying to collect all the Joltik cards (bc he’s the best pokemon) and literally ended up just buying almost all of them off tcgplayer because it was literally impossible to get any packs anywhere. I’ve ended up just buying Korean packs online to try and find the last Joltik card I need

my hot take is that scalping is a concept made by the psyche of all pokemon tcg fan to both justify impulsive buying, turn a hobby into a job and start speculating like its the new nft. and that scalper are just regular pokemon tcg collector

Pokemon has slowed down scalpers on amazon you have to request to buy now but it's limited access or something, which it can also stop people who aren't scalpers trying to buy cards
