@drjennaloewer: You know that deep, achy, pinchy feeling in your hip? That’s often coming from something called impingement, which is where the head of your femur has too much compression in the front of the socket. Over time, that respetative compression can contribute to labral tears. And yes—structure can play a role, but so does function. How you move, how well your muscles stabilize your hip… that all matters. The goal of your exercises and PT should be helping you learn how to keep the head of the femur well centered in that socket to reduce compression.
