@mr.ultrarunner: Achilles tendon inflammation while running — what should you do? There can be many reasons. But one of the most common is that runners focus only on the gastrocnemius and forget about the soleus. And it’s the soleus that plays a key role in running. Studies show that the soleus contributes a large portion of force to the Achilles tendon, while the gastrocnemius is more responsible for dynamics and acceleration. As a result, the soleus is constantly under load, but without proper stretching and recovery. Over time, this leads to overload and Achilles inflammation. In this video, I show one exercise that helps effectively stretch the soleus and restore its normal function. But it’s important to understand — this is not a way to fix inflammation “right now.” First, reduce the inflammation and recover. Then add this work into your regular routine. And always look at the bigger picture: running technique, strength training, and your overall condition all affect the health of your Achilles. #trailrunninglife #runningtips #runninglife #ultratrailrunner #ultrarunninglife
