@eleryj: A big reason Lipedema fat feels different is because of what’s happening with the lymphatic and vascular systems. The tiny blood vessels are more fragile and can leak fluid into the surrounding tissue, while the lymphatic system can’t fully keep up with draining it. Over time, that fluid buildup and inflammation change the structure of the fat itself, making it more nodular and fibrotic instead of smooth.
