Two homes have failed him, and we don’t want him spending another year waiting in a kennel. Auggie is looking for an experienced adopter who understands resource guarding and is committed to continuing his training, with support from a trainer if needed, so he can truly thrive. He is dog selective, cat tolerant, and would do best in a calm, stable home with teens 17+. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Auggie can finally learn what it means to belong. Everything felt overwhelming, and it was clear he hadn’t yet learned what it means to feel safe. With time, quiet walks, and gentle introductions at his own pace, Auggie slowly began to open up, revealing the sweet, sensitive dog we knew he could be. Auggie is a unique blend of Siberian Husky, Terrier, Chow Chow, and Dalmatian; an eclectic mix that shows up in both his looks and his thoughtful, independent personality. Auggie was adopted not long after he first arrived, but in June 2023, Auggie was returned. While he came back with more confidence, he also returned a bit more guarded, as if unsure whether he could trust again. Today, Auggie is no longer the shut down pup we first met. He continues to grow and will do best in a patient, understanding home that offers calm, structure, and consistency.
