@nicolasdestotomas: For G.K. Chesterton, what “dies” with Engelbert Dollfuss is not merely a ruler, but a civilizational principle. It is the idea that politics should be subordinated to something higher: the Christian moral order, the dignity of the common person, and the independence of small nations. In Chesterton's interpretation, Dollfuss embodied a concrete resistance against the great depersonalizing and inorganic forces of the 20th century, especially totalitarianism and ideological imperialism. In the end, what “dies” is a model of state rooted in tradition, faith, and the protection of real communities, in contrast to systems that reduce man to a mass, a number, or an instrument. It is not the absolute end of this ideal, but its momentary historical defeat, symbolized by the death of a man who represented it. #Dollfuss #gkchesterton #nationaldistributism #distributist #viral

CJ :

Dolfuss and salazar seem to have great significance in national distributism, though when i look it up, they are described as fascist corporatists, can someone please explain why this is and the difference between corporatism and national distributism, as im sure Dolfuss was not officially a distributists
