When I used to have my drift car and we used to install turbo kits, if you have mounted the way you do and you hit something it could jeopardize the piping so if you flip it upside down and have the inlet outlet on the top side when you use a little bit less piping into it keeps it nice and tucked

All aluminum has a coating on it. That’s why you always do a thorough cleaning before welding it

I havent welded aluminium vbands before, but can i image you should be clamping the flange to a dummy flange. That way it probably wont warp the flange as much. Just a guess tho:)

Is a high mileage Mercedes worth buying for the low? Or stay away from certain models?

please do an AMG style front bumper, it’ll better accommodate the intercooler/piping, plus the facelift grill is sharper aesthetically

You need to take a torch to the metal before you start welding. Especially aluminum, you’ll see it turn “wet” from pulling all the oils out and burning them off. Burn a big spot so your weld doesn’t suck the oil in.
