@dooly.bear: “SO CUTEE”❌❌❌ BUT this could be a very very dangerous tell tale sign of ear infection… This is a sign that he has ear discomfort, and that he is being cute. I noticed my dog Dooly doing this when I adopted him and immediately sent him to my vet. Ear infection is common for dogs, particularly for dogs with floppy ears such as Golden Retrievers. Other tell tale symptoms include: Frequent head shaking, scratching at ears, odor, discharge, redness, and pain. ✅ Here are 3 things you need to take note of. 1. When Bathing🛁, NEVER let water go into the ears, like what humans do. Always make sure to cover the ears when bathing. If possible, place cotton balls inside the ear canals to act as a seal, or a washcloth to clean their head instead of a direct spray. 2. Visit the Vet🩺. It’s important as they have equipments to do sampling and check if it is indeed bacteria infection. Generally, a cleanser should be used once a day for all dogs (even without infection). For dogs with ear infection, it’ll be used twice/ thrice a week together with prescribed ear drops twice a day for a fortnight, or longer. 3. Don’t leave it untreated thinking it’ll go away🙅🏻♀️. It WILL lead to severe tilting of the dog’s head, walking with permanent slanted head, hearing loss. The Intense scratching and head shaking can cause blood vessels to break within the ear flap, leading to painful, swollen hematomas that often require surgery, and even death. Gentle reminder!! What looks cute may not always be the case! My pup always shakes her head and tilt her head to a side as if there’s something in it. She does this frequently for a period of time and stops, happened quite a few times. Visited the vet and confirmed it’s fine. But it keeps happening so idk what’s going on and if I should be worried 😕

Do you have any recommendations for ear cleaners? my dog doesn't allow any equipment to clean his ear as a cotton ball was stuck in his ear when he was a baby, he is still traumatised by it till this very day. Thankyou !
