As a grown adult male I have never seen either of my parents naked.

My children decided. When it was their time to want their privacy and started closing doors and being private, I respected that and did the same. Their age was around 8 for my boy and 10 for my girl.

As a kid I hated seeing my parents naked but was too young to know how to address it. I just remember being uncomfortable. Please don't think it's acceptable just because your kids don't say anything

when either person starts to feel uncomfortable, thats when its not appropriate anymore.

It will become a problem if you make it a problem. I will always respect my children’s boundaries, but I will not hide myself in my own house. If im dressing and they decide to walk in then its their problem not mine 🤷🏽♀️

I have one child that respects my privacy FULLY and the other two will walk up on me and sit down when im getting dressed. So it depends on thr child I think.

Zero credentials here but I think it’s important to normalise it at home so our children know immediately when it’s out of place. If it’s not unfamiliar my daughter is more likely recognise when it’s not okay.

Mental maturity matters as well. Sometimes I’ll be having a bath and my 13 year old asd son will burst in talking about some Lego or Star Wars fact. He ain’t worried about me. My eldest two were definitely NOT doing that at his age though!

When my son was younger (he is now an adult) i used to stress about this. And then he made it clear when it became uncomfortable…. No more nudie runs from him, closing his door, not walking into bathroom when a parent was there. He seemed to just develop it around time of pubity and need for privacy.

I think it is smart to bring up while things are still comfortable. Just a neutral remark like 'when there comes a time that you want more privacy, just let me know and we can do that'. It signals that even though things might be alright and routine right now, they are not shamed for asking to stop at some point.

The kid will decide it’s not appropriate. They’ll leave or look disgusted..and it’s them walking in on me. I usually say, hey give me a minute to get dressed.

In my personal life, think around 6/7 is when 2 of kids started being more modest and wanting privacy so I think that’s about when they will have the respect the same for you. And maybe they are just independent to go so their own thing by then too. The other 2 are 5 and under and they aren’t even paying much attention but always follow me around. 😅 but I feel like all families are different and that’s okay.

I'm 36 and if I visit my parents it's not unusual for us to leave the bathroom naked to go to our room to get clothes. It has never been a problem to me, I grew up with this. My sister is uncomfortable with nudity and everyone respects that, it's not even something we've talked about, we just show respect..

I’m a prude and weird about it, but I don’t like it lol. Mostly happens when my daughter wants to talk and walks on in 🤣

I don’t think you can say an exact age. But I think picking up on mannerisms of being uncomfortable is a good indicator. Children are either comfortable enough to set boundaries or they won’t set the boundaries because they don’t want you to feel you’ve made them uncomfortable. However it is also important to have those conversations about consent and teaching your child to stay advocating for themselves from an early age.

After they reach the age of "I actually know what happenes around me and I will remember this". As a kid I hated being seen or seeing my parents I didn't know how to express it or what really was making me uncomfortable, if I ever have children I will be very clear and firm about privacy

We start privacy around 3/4 for them seeing parents. My 6 yo has just started to ask for his own privacy from us and we are starting that. But I will be breastfeeding my new baby here soon and will not worry about him and my 3 yo to be around during that.

My son is 10.5yrs, my daughter nearly 8yrs. We are cautious around my son now - both ways. Try to be cautious around my daughter but she will walk around starkers quite happily still, and doesnt believe in knocking yet. 😂 It is in my mind though that permanent memories develop from age 4, so I'm desperately hoping I'm not scarring them 😂😂😂

My son has always jumped in my bed when he wakes in the middle of the night. Sometimes I sleep topless as I overheat.. since about the age of 9 he will wake me now and say “mum I’m coming in to cuddle can you put your top on” and will pass me a singlet 😅
