@curryserver: FANFIC WRITING TIPS PART 13 | it looks like a lot when listed but i promise mulling it over in your mind isn't as hard and will help a lot when it comes to deciding what the core of your character needs to be to avoid ooc moments - a lot of the time we think "would X do that?" when we should ask "why would X do that?" and this helps put you in that mindset bc while they might not make that decision in canon you can work it into your story by getting ur readers to understand the Why's thru ur understanding of these 4 character considerations!! i could talk more about this but the video was getting long so i stopped myself lol #ao3 #fanfic #writingtips
I genuinely have to make shit up since my man only has less than 20 mins of screentime 💔💔

I've been having my uncle as well as a beta reader read my fanfics because sometimes it's hard for me to read tone even as I'm writing and it has generally helped me so much.

As an author, this helped a lot. #3 is EXTRA IMPORTANT. I realized a lot of the characters I wrote and didn't enjoy, they didn't have a perception of themselves. All external, nothing internal. A husk. It helped me realize that my opinion on my own character is not the same as internal building, they need their own set of organs to sustain them, so to say.

hellooo @Petal !! ooc is not a bad thing but here are some things to consider when writing the characters - this can even be simpler by writing down their key traits on the side of your document so you can always check back to make sure what they do is aligned with how the character is!! i hope this helps
